    Single aisle aircraft seating designs

I would like to have some discussion on single aisle aircraft seating classes.

A single aisle aircraft in America is usually divided into First Class & Economy Class, with First class seat pitch of 36-40" & width of 20-21". The first class called in Amreica is called Business class in Asia, though the seats are the same.

Meanwhile in widebodies the First class seats are of at least 60" seat pitch. And the 'First Class' seats in single aisles are not much better than that of Economy class. Thus it is very confusing to call the deluxe cabin as 'First Class' in America, and should be called as business class instead, like that of Asia.

It is so surprising that very few airlines install 'First Class' seats of more than 40" seat pitch in single aisle aircrafts, though wider seat pitch makes more comfortable trip.

In Europe the 'Business Class' in single aisles are of low quality, with 5 abreast seating normally (even on Airbus, which the manufacturer always make 'No business class middle seats' slogan!), thus there are some passengers suffering at middle seats. The seats themselves are just converted from the 6-abreast economy class seats, with armsets moved.

There are even some worse cases of business class seats in Europe (as well as South African Airways before renovation), with the middle seat of the 3-abresast economy class seat block not seated, and the seats are just as wide (or even same seat pitch) as economy class! How money cheating it is!!

Gulf Air has very special seat configuration in its A320 aircraft, with Economy class of 6-abreast, Business class of 5-abreast & First Class of 4-abreast in it!
